THE owners of whisky makers William Grant and Sons have topped the new Sunday Times Rich List in Scotland.

Chairman Glenn Gordon and his family – including brother Peter – are now worth £2.4 billion, £200 million more than last year.

The family first made it on the list, which is published in a special supplement tomorrow, back in 1989 with a fortune of £50m. They have made every edition since thanks to the success of brands such as Grant’s and Glenfiddich.

The Scottish list now includes 11 billionaires, including Jersey-based Glenn Gordon.

Cheers 'n' beers, Rab.
