Does anyone remember when pop singers got on stage and sung, without undressing down to their knickytams?
The prelude the Btits annual crap show featured millennials in their underwear screeching and bawling the same old crap, stripped to the bone!
I have no problem looking with looking at young females in their underwear gyrating on stage, but I do have a problem with the PC brigade branding me a pervert for looking at them !
I am not undressing for the public. I am not making a spectacle of myself on a public stage. They are. Rather than watch them, I have the option of using the ‘off’ switch, but the fact remains, it was presented on my TV screen without invitation.
Bring back the day when chanters were judged on their vocal merits rather than how much flesh they were prepared to bare.
It really has gone too far now. The public are bombarded with videos of young girls wearing their undies, whilst squawing like banshees in the hope of becoming rich and famous!
If you can sing, and you are tuneful, people will pay to hear you. If you are a parasitic wannabe prepared to undress for a few minutes of fame, then you will get all you deserve.
My advice. Go to a vocal class, keep your duds on, and learn to sing.

I was saddened to hear of the death of Cyrille Regis, and remember meeting him in 1977 when he signed for The Baggies.
The Press were summoned to the Throstle to get pics of their new wonder player, and he never did disappoint, despite the away support ‘banter’ which was without doubt, real and true racism.
If my memory serves me well, Cyrille was the first black footballer to be pelted with bananas, and subjected to monkey ‘whoo whoo whoo’ calls with the accompanying arms gestures.
To be honest, I remember it being classed as ‘funny’ back then, but in retrospect, it was indeed an awful thing to do to a young man who became a wonderful player, and shrugged off the abuse. Remember, those were different times.
It is comical to think that as a male who had no interest whatsoever in football, I was obliged to cover matches at Birmingham City, Aston Villa, West Bromwich and Wolverhampton Wanderers every Saturday afternoon.
I met all the young wonder players of the day who went to become household names, and didn’t care a jot about it.
The only sports star of whom I was in awe, and met, was Henry Cooper. He has been left in limbo in the Birmingham Motor Show press room, and I was in like Flynn to shake hands and chat with my childhood boxing hero.
Talking to Janet tonight about reporting for the Birmingham papers in the 70s, I met, and forgot so many household names it beggars belief. It was just my job !
I wish now I had taken a little more notice of those I was interviewing.

Cheers, HRH Rab.

Blimey! Another contemporary bites the dust. Aussie radio broadcaster Ed Doolin, probably not well known outside the Midlands, has joined Cyrille Regis at the age of 76.
Ed was a stalwart of BRMB, the Birmingham independent radio station for several years before joining Auntie Beeb a couple of years after I moved back to God’s own country in 1980.
I used to meet him at various events and Press bashes, and although we never socialised personally, he was a likeable guy who never reacted to baiting about his Aussie accent.
He ended up being a bit of a social champion for the masses, and made his mark at the BBC simply by staying in his stamping ground.
Any time he entered a press conference the local hacks would greet him with ‘Wharro Cobbler’ to which he would reply with a happy Aussie request to ‘go away.’
He was one of the good guys.

Cheers, HRH Rab.

It appears the Scottish Nationalist Party are in control not only of the Scottish Parliament, but also the Scottish weather.
Today, First Minister Wee Nicola Sturgeon publicly apologised, on television, to all the drivers who managed to get stuck in the snow on the A74.
What a preposterous piece of self indulgence, from someone supposed to be in control of Scotland’s affairs.
What on earth will the SNP be apologising for next week?
We are being asked to believe that the SNP invoked the heavy snowfall, which stranded the half wits who chanced their arm in such conditions.
This public apology really does take the biscuit. I know it is the current fashion to be apologetic, but to claim responsibility for Scottish blizzards is not taking the biscuit, it is taking the p***!
I am fast falling out of sympathy with the SNP because of their all encompassing need to be responsible for everything which occurs North of the border.
To apologise to stranded motorists is blind arrogance, and totally unnecessary, designed to fool the masses into believing the SNP ministers are Gods.
It is time for change … but to what?
I may claim my right to the throne!

Cheers, HRH Rab.

Tonight, I write as the founder member of the ‘straight rights brigade’ ‘NPWOSTOS’ to complain about the deviant outfits using what they regard as degrading words to describe themselves.
They object to being called ‘queers’ yet they advertise deviant bands as ‘Queer.’
The upcoming Celtic Connection Festival even has a genre referred to as ‘Queer Music.’
So where do we draw the contentious line?
They can refer to themselves as ‘queer’, but if straights refer to deviants as ‘queer’ we are denounced as homophobic!
Tonight on Question Time some rarely known Yank spouts forth about the caring, sharing, loving, British all embracing people. He would wouldn’t he. He is allegedly ‘married’ to diver Tom Daley.
If it is accepted that the deviant brigade can campaign for what they see as their rights, surely it is acceptable that I, and the ‘straight rights brigade’ can campaign for our rights without being demonised as homophobic.
If that is the litmus test to which we must all adhere, then the deviant brigade are constantly libelling and slandering the normal people by decrying those who oppose them as ‘homophobic.’
They are ‘hetrophobic’ and should be prosecuted.
I am arranging a NPWOSTOS rally in Trafalgar Square some time in February, providing I can squeeze one in between the deviant rallies, ‘scuse the loose pun!
I bet most of you have worked it out, but just in case some haven’t … Normal People Who Only **** The Opposite Sex.
You all know it makes sense.
Membership application forms not needed, just a normal outlook on life guarantees admission.
No rainbow coloured flags, no Samba band drumming, no dressing up like numpties, you only have to be NORMAL.
The time to recover from the ills of the world starts here.

Cheers ‘n’ beers, Rab.

Only our Colonial brethren have the bare faced cheek and audacity to treat failure as success, and applaud the failures for their failure!
Actress Meryl Streep has apparently broken her own record for Oscar nominations, despite being an unconvincing beauty, and an even less convincing actress.
No matter, I diverge. The lassie has been nominated for no less than 21 Academy Awards, but … and I stress the word ‘but’ she has only ever been considered good enough to actually win THREE Oscars for “Kramer vs. Kramer” in 1979, “Sophie’s Choice” in 1982, and “The Iron Lady” in 2011.
Although she has lost 18 luvvie awards throughout her acting career, she has only won three. That amounts to the best performance of a Scottish football team manager. (I refuse to refer to them as ‘coaches’ coaches are what you use as transport to get to Scotland games.
Again I lose track, but will persevere.
The lady’s batting average is clearly poor, as poor as the judgement of the selectors who nominated her for the 18 awards she didn’t win.
I have to ask myself, and the selectors, to what level of mediocrity does one have to descend to be nominated for an Oscar.
It makes a mockery even of the fake luvvie wards to elevate a loser to the heights, for losing those awards for which she was nominated!
The only film I can remember in which Mrs Streep starred was a dozy pile of crap in which she was the only woman in America who could row a boat down the Colorado River with two psychopaths along with some of her screen brats. It was truly awful, and memorable only for the Colorado River, if it was indeed the said river, or created on the same set as the moon landings!
Do I jest? Nae Mr. Wilkes, Hehehe. That will be lost on the Colonial brethren.
Enough, it is late and getting later.
Lord only knows what the UK luvvies won tonight, or who cares, but the Yank luvvies continue to amaze me with their unadorned adulation for failure.

Cheers, HRH Rab,

The hypocrisy of the President’s Club shambles angers me beyond belief.
It has been described as a ‘men only’ bash, but there are upwards of 200 women at it, working, organising and administrating the huge financial donations, currently being refunded by half wits who want to be seen as ‘apologetic’ rather than use the so called ‘dirty money’ to help those for whom they campaign.
This story is a product of the sanitised outlook enforced upon the public by those who have nothing better to do than sensationalise the minimal view of extremists who have nothing better to do.
Every woman hired to work at the President’s Club knew in advance it was a rich boy’s jolly. They took the cash, they went home, they were not offended … until some hand jiving so called newspaper reporter went ‘undercover’ and ‘claimed’ that women were groped and propositioned.
So bloody what?
This outfit has donated millions of pounds to worthy charities, there has been no compliant to the police of any form of assault, no woman has come forward and complained of any sexual assault, the police are not investigating any crime connected to this organisation.
On Question Time tonight the organisation was condemned by the great and the good, although one hack was angered by people handing back their donations.
It really beggars belief that the public believe this bloody nonsense, an angers me that hypocrites are using an annual ‘men’s cash raising jolly’ to campaign for ‘woman’s’ rights’ when the event provided pay for women who chose to take the job, knowing it was a ‘men only’ event?

I really do object to the sexist sensationalism relating to this event.

Whilst delivering an afternoon coffee to my beloved in the wee front lounge, where she watches television, I was stopped in my tracks by what I thought was an announcement from another deviant outfit telling me they were what I needed to make my life complete!
My beloved managed to stop me putting a chair through the television by explaining I had just heard an advertisement for an LGTV, which is, for those who do not know, a great big digital all singing and dancing TV set!
Maybe they would sell more if they dropped the initials and said what they are punting in plain language?
Maybe I am being too sensitive, but I object to the radio and television presenters trotting out deviant acronyms as if they were part of the English language, when few of them can pronounce ‘kilometre’ or ‘communal’ correctly.

HRH (’scuse the acronym’), Rab.

I don’t know what people in other parts of the country had on their televisions this week, but here in the Borders, we were swamped with nonsense about the centenary of some women getting the vote.
The great and the good of today, who seek out circumstances for which to apologise, were wringing their hands and beating their breasts in adoration of women who were arrested and imprisoned for breaking the law of their day, demanding pardons for women who blatantly broke the law of the day in which they lived.
Utter nonsense. They were arrested, convicted and sentenced for law breaking.
Today’s do-gooders are obsessed with seeking out those who contravene their phobia for non-conformism to their weird and ridiculous ideals.
Scottish MP Hugh Gaffney is currently being pilloried by the ‘phobia police’ for delivering a humorous speech at a Burns Supper.
He delivered a verse about the Bard not being ‘bent’ and referred to a Chinese meal as a ‘Chinky.’
So what? He did not break any law. If the ‘phobia police’ can show me any legislation which states the words ‘bent’ or ‘Chinky’ is a criminal offence, then I will back he calls for Gaffney to be dumped.
The Chinese communities still refer to their own restaurants as ‘Chinkys’. Who decreed that the word ‘Chinky’ was offensive?
And who decreed that the words poof, bent, dyke, Paki, honkey, snowdrop, nigger, woofter, wog, or any other adjective which has been in general use, was a criminal offence?
No individual, but a collective of half wit ideologists who are hell bent on the creation of a thoughtless, unthinking herd of humans who cannot form an opinion for themselves.
I will continue to describe people as I find them, and if I want to be derogatory, believe me, they will know I am insulting them.

Monarch in waiting, Rab.

I was talking to an old friend from Iowa State in the US last night, and the latest school shooting in Florida came up. Her husband is a retired sheriff, she does shoot occasionally, but she puts the blame squarely on the parents.
This was her take on America’s mass school shooting problem, 18 since January.

People are nuts with guns in the US. There is so much mental health shootings, interracial stuff....terrorists. Just crazy. And kids are spoiled so much...parents don't spend the time talking to their kids...their kids can do no wrong. We had a shooting in Humboldt not long ago. Young man was depressed...everyone picking on him, girlfriend dumped him. He filmed himself walking through town. Then he stole a car, was stopped by police and the first thing the kid does is fire a gun at the officer so multiple ones shot back...killing him. His mother was defending him, saying the police shouldn't have shot him because he had problems. geeeeesh.

She reckons there are two or three times as many guns as people in the US, so trying to stop people owning them is virtually impossible now.
I know her husband’s philosophy when he was an active Sheriff was ‘my hand gun means I don’t have to chase the bad guys.’
The NRA are still believers that one good guy in a school with a gun will stop the bad guy going back to school armed to the teeth.
All decent Americans want the school massacres to end, but those same people will not stick their heads above the parapet and say ‘we don’t need guns.’
I personally think the UK’s gun laws are verging on the Draconian at times, but on reflection, it is better that our police know exactly where the legally held firearms are, and who has possession of them.

Happy hunting, HRH Rab.
