From The Kilderkin Facebook page:----

'At The Kilderkin, 65/67 Canongate, Royal Mile, Edinburgh

Friday 23rd November 2012 7.30pm

Join us for an evening of delectable whisky as we celebrate the last week of the great cause that is Movember (and hopefully raise a few extra pennies into the bargain!)

We'll have 10 (approx!) wonderful drams for you to sample, including a rather special secret 40 year old, as well as some incredibly knowledgeable chaps here to share their whisky enthusiasm with you.

Tickets cost 20, and all proceeds will go to Movember UK.

Pop in to buy a ticket before the event to reserve your spot, as spaces may be limited on the night.'

Certainly a Glenfarclas 105 and a Springbank CV 46% (current batch), more details about the drams will be posted as they appear. A big thanks to the companies who have supported the event with the bottles and staff.

10 drams. I'm not sure I'd find my way home after that!

Great value.

Honourable Men 0f Whisky part 2 phase 2, Edinburgh 29.11.12

That sweet talking James (proprietor of the Kilderkin, in Edinburgh) persuaded some generous whisky people to donate stock for his Movember charity tasting - last year's was quite a phenomena, this years was no less impressive. As he has some bottles left there will be a second chance to taste some drams all for a good cause - 7.30pm 20 - see some of you there?

I'll try and post the line up soon.

Welcome to our 5th annual Honourable Men of Whisky Movember fundraiser.

The past years tastings have been pretty epic events with over £3,000 raised last year by team Kilderkin over the month of Movember.

We'll be following the same format as the last couple of years so you'll know what to expect.

A £25 donation to our Movember page will get you a ticket for the best, most raucous whisky tasting you're ever likely to experience.

There will be a minimum of ten whiskies (usually nearer 20) with some of the most knowledgeable whisky heads in the country to talk us through them. Click here for a peek at previous offerings http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EvN-jdcsGI&list=UUxRuWQtHFg9u_AEqJKSvZ7g

I'll let you know what drinks to expect as we get them in, but remember that places are limited, so reserve your place now by donating £25 to
https://uk.movember.com/donate/payment/member_id/323922/
...be sure to say the donation is for the whisky tasting and don't forget to GiftAid.

Hear's a short video from our 2013 tasting (30secs) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXEpQOAGH1M

Cheers

James

ps If you are affiliated with a brand, bar or whisky shop we would love for you to bring a bottle along to promote to the group. I'll make sure we purchase a couple to stock in the bar.
